NilcraTM Zirconia from Morgan Technical Ceramics leads the way in solving the valve trim alternative for severe service applications.
Many of the world’s leading industrial severe service valve manufacturers have chosen to use NilcraTM Zirconia as the solution to combating highly corrosive and abrasive fluid flows. Ball valves, butterfly valves, rotary and linear control valves are available with NilcraTM Zirconia trim options.
Valves used in the Oil and Gas industry, Oil Sands processing, Alumina (Bauxite) processing, Chemical and Pulp and Paper processing all benefit from the use of NilcraTM Zirconia. NilcraTM Zirconia works in applications where other materials simply fail. This saves substantial on process downtime and valve repair costs.
Valves typically fail due to inherent weaknesses in their materials of construction. It becomes a balance to determine which material best satisfies the given application. The result is invariably a compromise between valve life and valve performance.
Morgan’s NilcraTM Zirconia changes this situation and many customers in the refining, oil and gas production and exploration, bauxite refining and chemical processing industries are now insisting their valve suppliers offer valves with this trim material.
NilcraTM Zirconia is a transformation toughened, partially stabilised Zirconia (PSZ) ceramic which is strong, tough, and highly resistant to the vast majority of chemical reagents and abrasive slurries. In addition to this corrosion and abrasion resistance the material demonstrates excellent resistance to cavitation – the killer of process control valves.
Morgan can offer valve components up to 500mm I diameter with cross sections up to 75mm. Valve seats 500mm in diameter and Ball valve balls, seats and liners up to DN200 are available in NilcraTM Zirconia.
