Glue rolls
Over the last 20 years, Morgan’s ceramic glue rolls manufactured from NilcraTM Zirconia have revolutionized the cigarette filter assembly process.
Morgan’s NilcraTM ZIirconia is harder than steel or chrome-alloy and is highly resistant to corrosive environments. The material is also non conductive so will not be effected by the possibility of electrolysis which can occur in glue operation.
For over 20 years, cigarette producers have realised the benefits of using NilcraTM Zirconia glue rolls and have reduced downtime and increased roll life – by as much as 5-10 times over steel rolls.
Both the glue pick up roll and the transfer roll are available in NilcraTM Zirconia and the glue pattern on the pick up roll is available to customer specification.
Depending on the type and design, rolls can be made totally from ceramic or as a ceramic metal assembly.
Cork tipping and metering rolls which suffer from the abrasive nature of the filter paper are also available in NilcraTM Zirconia.
